On today's episode of Educhatwithbella, we will be looking at differentiating words.

I'm sure we have been learning the right pronunciation of those words from our blog this past week. Now let's move to differentiating words. I will always say that words are tricky and they are not always pronounced the way they are spelt ( judging from our previous post). Today we will be looking at homophones and homonyms. Homophones are words that have the same pronunciation but different spelling and meaning. Homonyms are words that have same spelling,same pronunciation but different meaning . Most times the word we feel are homophones are actually wrong , let's take a look at some words  Homophones.       Words 1. The English sound system. There is a relationship between sounds and spelling system. Nevertheless the connection between them is neither candid or recognisable. The sounds of English are not the same as the letters. The pattering founded in the sound system of English is a reflection of physiology of the vocal tract. The changing of air flow involves basic principle. When we make a sound ,air moves through the vocal cords and passes out through the nose. As the sound moves ,the air flow is changed through vibrating the vocal cords,by opening the velum to let go out through the nose,and by toning the air flow completely on the mouth. When we understand the English sound system,then it becomes less difficult to make sense of spelling. There are 44 sounds in the English sound system, 24 of those sounds are consonants while the other 20 sounds are the vowels ( I'm guessing you thought it's 5 vowels and 21 consonants right😁😁). Understanding the Alphabet

 Today we will be understanding the Alphabet and I would be teaching (5) types of alphabets. Let's drive right into it. Most of us are familiar with the word alphabet,but what we don't know is that the letters A-Z are  not the only Alphabet we have. Let us look at the definition of the word Alphabet. An Alphabet is a a standardized set of basic written symbols or grapheme ( called letters) that represents the phonomes of a certain spoken language.   There are different kinds of alphabets  1. Latin 2. Cyrillic 3. Greek 4. Armenian 5. Georgian 6. Hangul  Now that we have listed the types of alphabets we have ,you will wonder what type of alphabets we use in English language.
